A traffic stop turned into a police pursuit early Saturday morning in Henrico.

Police say it happened at 4:42 a.m. at the intersection of Chamberlayne and Wilkerson. The suspect fled after police tried to pull him over.

The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed his vehicle at the intersection of Route 301 and Atlee Station Road in Hanover County.

The suspect then fled on foot. Police set up a perimeter and Hanover and Henrico police along with Richmond K-9 units searched for the suspect.

K-9 units found the suspect a short time later. 35-year-old Michael J. Jackson of Oakland Terrace was arrested and charged with felony DUI, felony eluding, and revocation.

No one was injured in the pursuit.
