WARRENTON, Va. (AP) - A Fauquier County teacher faces child pornography and drug charges.
Fauquier sheriff's spokesman Lt. Col Paul Mercer says 33-year-old Scott C. Howe was charged Aug. 12 with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, producing or making child pornography and crimes against nature.
Mercer says a deputy responding to a reported drug violation on Aug. 11 saw marijuana plants in the backyard of Howe's residence. Mercer says further investigation found evidence of a sexual nature involving an underage person.
Fauquier County schools spokeswoman Karen Parkinson says school officials are aware of the charges. She declined further comment and didn't say where Howe worked.
