All lanes of Interstate 95 north in Henrico County are back open after being shut down Wednesday morning due to a tractor trailer crash.
The crash happened just before 6 a.m. on I-95 north near the I-295 exit (mile marker 84). According to state police, the driver lost control of the big rig, crashed through a guardrail and down an embankment.
Police said the driver, 50-year-old John Carr, fell asleep at the wheel. He has been charged with reckless driving.
Northbound lanes of the interstate were completely closed for more than three hours as crews cleared the scene.
