
Police say that Detectives with the Richmond Police Department have arrested a man and charged him with malicious wounding in connection with a shooting early Saturday morning in the St. John's Woods apartment complex.
U.S. Marshals picked up 28-year-old Leonard Muhammad Silva, of St. John's Woods, several hours after the 1 a.m. shooting which happened in the 500 block of Argyle Terrace.
"Detectives credit cooperation from the community and excellent work by the U.S. Marshals for resolving the case so quickly," says Gene Lepley with Richmond Police.
Police tell 8News that the victim, a 24-year-old woman, was struck in the head by a single, small caliber bullet fired by the suspect during an argument between him and another man.
She is currently at VCU Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
