WRIC Richmond News and Weather - Suspect Search Prompts Henrico School Lockdown

UPDATE - Henrico Police say the suspect is now in custody. His name is Aaron Hopkins, 32, of Richmond. Hopkins was wanted for probation violations in Hampton, larceny in Chesterfield and assault in Richmond.
He is now in custody of Henrico Police on charges of providing false information to a police officer.
Glen Lea Elementary School in eastern Henrico County was under lockdown Monday afternoon as police search for a suspect in the area.
According to schools officials, the suspect was never on school property on Austin Avenue, but was last seen in the general area.
Henrico Police officials confirmed they are assisting Hanover authorities with the search for a suspect who escaped custody. It is unclear what the suspect was in custody for and how the suspect was able to escape.
Glen Lea Elementary is in the 3900 block of Austin Avenue, just off of Laburnum Avenue.
