WASHINGTON (AP) - Two 18-year-olds have been charged with manufacturing an illegal drug in a freshman dormitory at Georgetown University in Washington.
Court documents filed Monday charge Georgetown student Charles Smith and guest John Perrone with manufacturing "DMT." A third student who was arrested, John Romano, was to be released without charges.
Court documents say that police were told Saturday that individuals were selling drugs from room 926 in the school's Harbin Hall dorm. Police searched the room and items including dry ice, ammonia, lighter fluid and a turkey baster.
A Drug Enforcement Administration official said the combination of chemicals was "potentially highly flammable and explosive."
A preliminary hearing has been set for Wednesday.
