E-Z Baked Sliced Sweet Potatoes Or Yams

Prepare sweet potatoes or yams for baking. Arrange sweet potato or yam slices in one layer in a shallow baking dish or pan. Drizzle butter evenly over potatoes. Pour orange juice into dish. Sprinkle potato slices lightly with nutmeg. Bake, uncovered, in a preheated moderate oven (350 to 375 degrees F.) for 40 to 45 minutes or until potato slices are fork tender, basting frequently with juice in dish. Sprinkle potatoes with salt, if desired, just before serving. Spoon remaining liquid in dish or pan over potatoes and garnish as desired.
Note: May reduce butter or margarine, if desired; liberally coat potato slices with butter-flavored non-caloric vegetable cooking spray.
Note: May bake sweet potatoes/yams at same time and temperature as ham slice, if desired.
