A body found in Dinwiddie County earleir this week has been positively identified as Leigha Dix, according to officials.
Dinwiddie authorities have now also filed 1st degree murder charges against Dix's ex-boyfriend, Dequency Batts.
The body was found earlier this week by a hunter, according to the missing woman's mother.
Late Tuesday, Leisia Dix confirmed the remains found off of Quaker Road are those of her daughter, Leigha Dix. Leisia says Dinwiddie Police asked her to identify jewelry found on the body. She confirmed the jewelry as belonging to her daughter.
Leigha disappeared almost six months ago. Three weeks after her disappearance, authorities served a search warrant on the home of her ex-boyfriend Batts. Batts is serving a one-year jail sentence for an unrelated assault and battery conviction.
