FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - A Fairfax County couple has returned a $40,000 diamond ring to its owners.
Keith and Linda Stetzer found the 3-carat diamond ring two weeks ago in a Tysons Corner parking garage.
The couple enlisted the help of Mervis Diamond Importers in Tysons, whose imprint appears inside the band.
Jonathan Mervis of the diamond center used records to confirm the ring belonged to Mark and Susan Brahms. Mervis says Mark Brahms said his wife was "sobbing" on the phone when she heard the news.
Mervis and the Stetzers returned the ring Thursday, and were told Susan Brahms typically takes off her rings to apply lotion, which how the ring was likely lost.
The Stetzers say they received a reward, which they plan to give to charity.
The Brahms could not be reached immediately for comment.
