
Wednesday night some Chesterfield County residents gathered to hear some possible proposed that may change their addresses.
County administrators spent the evening addressing addresses but this is more than a postal problem.
Right now eight Chesterfield zip codes overlap into other jurisdictions. Leaders say that's creating customer confusion and county identity issues.
"Our own airport in Chesterfield County is Richmond Virginia. Our Cloverleaf Mall is Richmond, Virginia. Our Chesterfield Town Center is Richmond, Virginia," said County Administrator Becky Dickson.
The county faces other potential problems including losing money. Officials believe every year businesses mistakingly send two million sales tax dollars, spent in Chesterfield County, to other communities.
The county has come up with some possible changes and presented their proposals at the meeting but officials wants to hear from the public before final decisions are made.
