Clemency Request

Three men who claim they're in prison for a crime they didn't commit are asking Governor Warner for clemency.

"We are here today to ask Governor Warner to grant a pardon to three men who will otherwise

face a lifetime in prison for a crime they did not commit," says Lary Tice, Victim's Father.

Joe Tice, Danial Williams, and Derek Tice are all serving life sentences behind bars for the 1997 murder and rape of Michelle Moore Bosco.

Their clemency request alleges that the three sailors were coerced by police into falsely confessing to the crime, for fear that they could be put to death if they did not.

"There's no physical evidence linking these men to the scene, that's because they weren't there, the only reason these men were arrested, is the statements they made," says Larry Mccan, Crime Scene Expert.

In 1999, another man, Omar Ballard confessed to killing Moore-Bosko and police matched his DNA to evidence from the crime scene. In a sworn affadavit, Ballard says he acted alone.

That's why the families of the three sailors are pleading with Mark Warner to free their sons.

The three men are out of l legal options. The governor is their last hope. We spoke with warner's office today, they're now reviewing the clemency request.
