The almost stationary front that has governed our weather this weekend remains sitting over southern parts of Virginia this evening. Overnight it'll begin its slow northward trek, but as it does so it will become much weaker than it already is. With it still in our relative vicinity we can expect much of the same weather we experienced this weekend to start off our work week, mostly cloudy skies with substantial breaks of sunshine from time to time, also the risk of a pop up shower or brief thunderstorm in the afternoon hours. As the front sets up north of our area we will once again be in the ‘warm' sector and you'll notice that throughout the week our temperatures will gradually warm into the mid-80s and then nearly 90 by midweek. Flow out of the southwest will help bring in warm temperatures as well as increased humidity. With the warmer, moist flow we will also carry the risk for a shower or storm each afternoon. An area of high pressure will help our weather improve into midweek, increased sunshine into Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of an approaching cold front that will move through with a greater threat for showers and storms on Thursday afternoon. Have a great week!
