Death Leaves Museum District On Edge

Richmond Police continue to investigate after a woman's body was found in the western part of the City Thursday morning.

20-year-old Jessica L. Pascual was found in the driveway of an apartment in the 3400 block of Kensington Avenue just after 6 a.m. Thursday. Richmond Police are calling the case a death investigation, but neighbors in the area think she may have been the victim of a hit and run.

"I can't believe anybody would do that," said neighbor Courtney Whitehurst. "I don't know if it was on purpose, but even it wasn't, turn yourself in."

"You can't leave someone laying in the street like that. That's someone's friend, someone's mother, someone's sister. It's just terrible."

Sourses close to the investigation confirmed the victim had tire tracks on her body. A crash team was on scene Thursday morning along with homicide detectives.

The incident has Museum District residents on edge.

"It's a good neighborhood, but when something like this happens in your own parking lot, it's definitely something," said resident Julie Marsh. "A caution flag goes up."
