NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - The younger brother of reinstated NFL quarterback Michael Vick appealed his conviction and punishment for a probation violation and got a stiffer jail sentence in return.
Marcus Vick was sentenced Monday in Norfolk General District Court to 30 days in jail. He was sentenced in August to 20 days.
Vick was convicted in October 2008 of DUI, eluding police and other violations. He received a 12-month suspended jail term and was ordered to pay fines, complete a treatment program and stay away from alcohol and drugs.
He violated his probation by missing counseling sessions and testing positive for marijuana.
Attorney Charles Lustig said Vick is more committed to tackling his problem, including attending classes and receiving clean drug screenings.
