A jet fuel tanker truck overturned in front Richmond International Airport, causing delays for motorists approaching the terminal.

The accident was located at the intersection of Airport Drive and Williamsburg Road. The tanker rolled down an embankment. The driver of the truck had to be extracted from the tanker. Airport Drive was closed to all traffic.

Traffic headed to airport terminals has now been rerouted to travel from Airport Drive onto Huntsman Road and then back to Airport Drive. Signs and police officers will direct travelers until all lanes are have been re-opened. There are no significant delays to traffic entering the airport.
