Anti-Abortion Banner Flying Over Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - An airplane towing an anti-abortion banner is spending two days flying over Lynchburg.

The banner depicts the hand of a human fetus lying on top of a dime. The plane flew over the city for about three hours Monday.

Mike Schrimsher of the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform says the group plans to send the plane up again Tuesday.

The privately funded nonprofit group uses graphic images of aborted fetuses to protest the practice of abortion across the country.

Schrimsher says the organization chose Lynchburg for the flights after an anti-abortion conference was held at Liberty University last week.

Liberty University spokesman Johnnie Moore says the school has no affiliation with the banner.
