RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A $134 billion spending bill approved by the U.S. Senate includes $476.1 million for military construction projects in Virginia.
The measure approved Tuesday night on a rare 100-0 vote also funds veterans programs.
U.S. Sen. Jim Webb says the Virginia construction projects include $3.66 million to expand an electromagnetic research and engineering facility at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren.
The legislation also allocates $8.9 million to upgrade the marshalling area at Fort Eustis, $32 million for the second phase of the Fort Pickett Regional Training Institute and $30.4 million for a C-40 hangar at Oceana Naval Air Station.
The bill now heads to House-Senate talks to produce a final version for President Barack Obama to sign.
