Shuttle Docks At Space Station

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) - Space shuttle Atlantis has arrived at the International Space Station.

It'll be there for a week, delivering a load of spare parts that are intended to keep the outpost running for another decade.

Atlantis will return to Earth with astronaut Nicole Stott, who's been at the outpost for two and a-half months.

Stott seemed ready to return, spotting Atlantis from three miles out. In a radio exchange, Stott told the shuttle's commander: "You look beautiful out there."

Commander Charles Hobaugh did have Atlantis do some posing for space station cameras, guiding the spacecraft through a series of maneuvers to allow an inspection of thermal tiles on the shuttle's belly. NASA officials say, so far, it looks like the shuttle made it through Monday's liftoff just fine.
