CHESTERTOWN, Md. (AP) - Washington College of Chestertown has named former special envoy Mitchell B. Reiss to be the 27th president.
The 52-year-old Reiss will succeed Baird Tipson on July 1.
Reiss is diplomat-in-residence at The College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, Va. From 2003 to 2007, he served as President George W. Bush's special envoy for the Northern Ireland peace process.
He has also served the State Department as director of policy planning.
Reiss has written three books. He is a graduate of Williams College, and earned a master's degree from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University.
