Police: Va. Tech Gets Threats In Online Postings

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Virginia Tech police are investigating the resurfacing of threats of another mass shooting at the university in YouTube postings.

Police said in an e-mail sent to faculty and students late Wednesday night that at this time they do not believe the postings pose a threat against the school.

Authorities had investigated similar threats in October and believe the new posts are from the same person. Police say they are highly confident the posts originate from Italy.

Virginia Tech was the scene of the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history in April 2007. Student Seung-Hui Cho killed 32 students and faculty members on campus, then took his own life.

Virginia State Police and the FBI are assisting in the investigation.
