WRIC Richmond News and Weather - Richmond Man Gets Harsh Sentence For Dog Fighting

Convicted Richmond dog fighter Richard Robinson will serve the harshest sentence ever handed down in Virginia for such a crime.
In court Thursday, a Richmond judge sentenced Robinson to 10 years behind bars, despite defense arguments that he had been exposed to dog fighting culture as a child.
Robinson was convicted of animal cruelty, dog fighting and animal fighting in December. He was also convicted in a dog fighting case in 2005.
