
Master Control Operator/Full-time/Evening
Ability to maintain on-air integrity, while being able to handle an extensive work load in a sometimes stressful environment solely. Provide immediate and appropriate responses to emergency situations that may affect on-air. Monitor all technical aspects of station. Provide discrepancy report documentation and take appropriate action to endure the accuracy of each log. Perform date entry and database management. Troubleshoot technical and operational reports. Must be able to operate multi format VTR's as well as routing video and audio signals, Omneon server, VCI automation and extremely organized and multi-task oriented. Good hand/eye coordination is necessary. Troubleshoots technical discrepancies on dubs and on-air and provide corrective measures to remedy problems. Perform other duties as needed. **Please not this is not considered an IT or an IS position. Minimum of two years college or technical school training in either electronics or television production, or prior experience at a commercial television station preferred. Video Journalist/News Photographer
WRIC-TV is looking for a Video Journalist/News Photographer who can shoot, edit, and write. Experience working with Panasonic P2 format and Edius editing preferred. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, generate story ideas, and produce innovative content for all newscasts. One year shooting and reporting experience preferred. Internship Opportunities
We only offer internships to college students who need the internship for a grade or course.
Deadline for Fall internships: July 10th.
Deadline for Spring internships: November 28th.
Deadline for Summer internships: April 4th.
The following is needed for internship consideration:
--Resume.
--One-page paper, double-spaced explaining why the student wants this internship and what they hope to learn. Include the department/career of interest such as news (producing, photography, reporting), production, sports, graphics, weather; and specify the semester needed (Fall, Spring or Summer).
--Confirmation email from an advisor, dean or registrar's office saying the internship is needed for the student's grade/course. Include how many credit hours are needed. (This varies with each student and school.)
**Without all three documents, student will not be considered for an internship**
