An ambulance driver is facing charges after a Henrico County accident that left at least two people injured Tuesday.
According to Police, 30-year-old Tacuma Nibbs was driving a privately-owned ambulance east on Dumbarton Road when he allegedly ran a red light, crashing into a pick-up truck turning left onto Byrdhill Road.
The ambulance, owned by Forrest Ambulance Service, was transporting a patient in a non-emergency capacity. It was not using lights and sirens.
The driver of the pick-up truck was seriously injured. A medical worker in the ambulance suffered minor injuries. Nibbs was not hurt.
Nibbs is charged with failing to obey a traffic signal.
