Petersburg men charged with robbing Prince George County convenience store

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two Petersburg men have been arrested and charged with robbing a convenience store in Prince George County over the weekend. 

The Prince George County Police Department said it responded to reports of an armed robbery at the A Plus convenience store, located at 12201 S. Crater Road, at around 1:20 a.m. 

Officers were told that a suspect entered the business, displayed a handgun and robbed the cashier of cash before fleeing the scene in a gold four-door sedan. 

The suspect, along with one another accomplice, were both later apprehended during a traffic stop in Dinwiddie County. 

The two men -- 35-year-old Nicoral Scott and 22-year-old Daniel Freeman, both of Petersburg -- have been charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. 

They are being held at Riverside Regional Jail.
