Driver charged after overturned box truck closes lanes of I-95 South near Maury Street

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 25-year-old man has been charged with reckless driving after a crash closed parts of Interstate-95 South near Maury Street. 

VDOT says the South right center lane, right lane, right shoulder, and exit ramp were closed near mile marker 74.6. Traffic was backed up for about a mile and a half. All lanes have since reopened. 

An investigation revealed that Wilson Munoz, of Maryland was driving the Enterprise Rental box truck southbound I-95 when he hit the left jersey wall just south of Broad Street and lost control.

The vehicle was hauling furniture when it overturned around 2 p.m. 

Munoz was wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries to his hand.  

Munoz was charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain control. 

Speed is being considered a factor in the crash.  The crash remains under investigation.
