RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The State Corporation Commission has scheduled five hearings on Dominion Virginia Power's rate increase request.
The state's largest utility has filed five separate cases that would result in an overall 6.8 percent rate increase for residential customers.
The adjustments would be phased in over the next 14 months.
Each hearing at the SCC's offices in Richmond will focus on a different filing. The biggest case is a proposed $289 million increase in the company's base rate.
That hearing - the last of the five - is set for next Jan. 20.
The other hearings are set for June 16, July 16, Aug. 11 and Aug. 18. People who want to submit written comments must have them in a week before the hearings.
