Katelyn is the anchor for Good Morning Richmond Weekend Edition.
Katelyn Sherwood joined the 8News team in July of 2008. She is currently a video journalist during the week, and during the weekend, she anchors Good Morning Richmond Weekend Edition. Katelyn graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism. While attending Radford University, she interned at WDBJ-7 in Roanoke. Before becoming a video journalist, Katelyn worked as an assignment editor and internship coordinator for 8News.
While at WRIC, Katelyn has covered numerous stories including the high profile murder trial of George Huguely in Charlottesville. She also spent days covering the 5.8 magnitude earthquake that struck our area in August of 2011. Katelyn is excited to be covering stories for the Richmond area and is glad to be close to her family and hometown of King George County.
In her spare time, Katelyn enjoys working out, going to the beach and spending time with her family and friends.
