The government is offering a big incentive to buy more energy-efficient appliances. If you need to upgrade your home appliances, it will be a little cheaper for you with this new rebate program.
"Cash for Appliances" is a new federal rebate program that starts next Wednesday in Virginia. Beginning April 28th, you can get money back by trading in your old appliance for a more energy-efficient one.
~ Refrigerators offer a rebate of $60.
~ Washing machines offer a rebate of $75
~ Heat pumps offer a rebate of $300
~ Tankless water heaters offer a rebate of $225
In order to receive the rebate, your appliance must be Energy Star qualified and you must submit your receipt within 60 days. There is a limit of one rebate per household.
