From State Police:

At 12:41 p.m. Monday, Virginia State Police responded to the scene of an incident involving a 2000 Freightliner tractor and a 1996 Mono trailer on the on-ramp from Laburnum Avenue eastbound to Interstate 64 westbound in the east end of Henrico County.

As the driver attempted to enter onto the ramp, the trailer buckled in the middle. The trailer was hauling approximately 70,000 pounds of recycled paper from the east end area to the City of Richmond.

The 52 year-old male driver from Lynchburg was not injured during the incident and is not facing any charges.

The on-ramp is currently closed while cleanup crews will offload the paper from the trailer and then tow the tractor-trailer from the scene.

Cleanup is expected to last several hours. Motorists can bypass the scene and make a legal u-turn to access the westbound entrance ramp from westbound Laburnum Avenue.
