Update from Richmond Police: The Richmond Police Department has identified the bicyclist who died after being struck by a vehicle on Friday night.
At approximately 8:54 p.m., Heladio Perez-Martinez, 24, of the 1700 block of Clarkson Road, was riding his bicycle when attempting to cross Hull Street Road in the 5300 block. A Toyota Sequoia being driven eastbound struck him.
Perez-Martinez was transported to VCU Medical Center where he died of his injuries.
The driver has not been charged at this time. The Richmond Police Department's Crash Team will submit the investigation to the Commonwealth's Attorney for final review on any charges.

At approximately 8:54 p.m. Richmond Police responded to the scene of a bicycle and SUV collision in the 5300 block of Hull Street Road.
The bicycle and SUV collided in the eastbound lane. The bicyclist, a Latino male in his 30's, was transported to VCU Medical Center where he died of his injuries.
The driver has not been charged at this time.
The Department's Crash Team Investigators are working to determine the cause of the accident.
