UPDATE: Richmond Hit And Run Suspect Arrested

Thanks to a citizen tip, Richmond Police have arrested a man they say struck and severely injured a pedestrian with his vehicle before fleeing the scene.

James Williams Jr., 52, was arrested Friday and charged with felony hit and run. Police say Williams struck and seriously injured a 21-year-old male in the 2000 block of Kimrod Road on February 20.

The victim continues to recover from life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident. Police said the victim was dragged more than 1,000 feet after being struck.

Police said a single citizen tip helped lead to the arrest.

Detectives still ask anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word "ITip" followed by your tip. Both methods are anonymous.
