Two Men Shot On Chamberlayne Avenue

RICHMOND - Police are searching for a gunman who shot two people on Chamberlayne Avenue in Richmond Monday evening, leaving one of the victims fighting for life.

Investigators say two men in their 20s were shot near the intersection of Chamberlayne and Bellevue Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Police tell us one of them has life-threatening injuries. Both were taken to VCU Medical Center.

Officers and forensic teams were at the scene for hours after the shooting. So far no suspect description has been released, and police are looking for leads.

"We know this is a very busy area," said Dionne Waugh, a Richmond Police spokesperson. "A lot of foot traffic, apartment complexes, a lot of people. So we are really hoping someone may have seen something, may have heard something."
