Richmond, VA-- Court documents confirm that Sharon Love, the mother of slain UVA women's lacrosse player Yeardly Love, has filed a civil suit against the UVA men's lacrosse coach Dom Starsia and assistant coach Marc Van Arsdale in Louisa County.

Plaintiffs included in the suit are Sharon Love, and the estate of Yeardly Love, who was killed two years ago. George W. Huguely V, Love's ex-boyfriend and a former UVA men's lacrosse player, was convicted of second-degree murder and grand larceny in February. Although his recommended sentence was 26 years, the amount of time Huguely will spend in prison will be determined in a criminal trial.

Today's filing of the civil suit comes days after Yeardly's older sister, Lexie Love, filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Huguely for nearly $30 million.
