RICHMOND, VA—Virginia voters are urged to review their voter ID cards before they head to the polls during Tuesday's Primary Election.
The Virginia Board of Elections is urging voters to check their polling place, as many voters' polling locations have changed.
"There have been a lot of changes due to redistricting, so we encourage people to go to our website or call their general registrar to make sure they know where their polling place," said Virginia State Board of Elections secretary Donald Palmer.
To check their polling location, voters can visit the State Board of Elections website and click on the "where do I vote" section.
Virginia's new Voter ID bill is also causing confusing among voters.
The new bill was signed into law by Gov. Bob McDonnell, but doesn't take effect until July 1, 2012.
The new bill forces voters who don't show ID to cast a provisional ballot which will be counted after the election, only if voters can validate their identity with local registrars.
"The old law will still be in place," said Palmer of Tuesday's Primary Election.
If voters don't have their ID, they'll still be allowed to vote in Tuesday's Primary, after signing an affidavit.
