The storm which barreled through the Richmond area sent a huge tree smashing through a home on Monument Avenue at Blacker Street, leaving the homeowner fuming at City officials.
Carl Archacki, who recently renovated his home after a devastating fire, had pleaded with Richmond officials to let him remove the huge willow oak which now rests inside his home.
"The entire home will have to once again be reconstructed," said Archacki.
The massive tree crushed the sun room, took out a second-floor bedroom and even damaged the foundation. Archacki said he predicted the incident, and had asked city officials permission to have the tree removed from his property. The city refused, saying the tree was healthy.
"I was willing to pay my own dime to preserve my new home, and now see the result of the city arborist refusing me to let me take it down."
The destruction comes shortly after Carl had moved back into the home after rebuilding from a fire last year.
