WASHINGTON—The nation's blood supply is dangerously low.
The American Red Cross said its blood supply has reached emergency levels, with 50,000 fewer donations than expected in June.
The donation shortfall leaves the readily available blood supply at approximately half what it was this time last year, according to the organization.
The Red Cross said O negative blood is the most needed, but O positive, O negative, B negative and A negative are also needed.
