A woman is dead and another seriously injured after a wrong-way crash on Route 288 in Chesterfield Friday afternoon.
The crash happened at 12:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes near the Chester Road exit. State Police officials said a tow truck heading south crossed over the grassy median and slammed into a northbound SUV.
The female driver of the northbound SUV died at the scene. The tow truck driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
It is unclear what caused the tow truck to cross the median.
The crash remains under investigation. Stay with 8News for updates.
