PALYMRA, Va. (AP) - Fluvanna County authorities have identified a mud-bog racer who died when his vehicle overturned and landed in a pond full of swimmers.

Media outlets report that authorities suspect a medical condition may have caused Carol Engle Jr. to lose control of his vehicle after he completed his run on Saturday.

Witnesses told police that the Goochland County resident was an experienced racer.

The accident occurred during a mud-bog competition at Haislip Farm between Scottsville and Palmyra. Three other people received minor injuries.
