HENRICO, VA - Henrico County Police have released the name of the man killed Thursday night in the county's East End.
Police said the body of Iyinde
M. Dove, 35, of Richmond,
was found at the intersection of Laburnum Avenue and Fenwick Street just before 9 p.m.
Henrico County Police are investigating the shooting a homicide.
Police said a man at the scene was arrested on forgery charges for an unrelated incident.
No charges have been filed in connection to the shooting, but police said they are not actively seeking a suspect.
A second crime scene about a block away, at Fenwick Street and Parlow Drive, was also investigated by officers.
Henrico Police tell 8News the two scenes are related to the same incident, but would not go into detail.
8News spoke with several neighbors who live in the neighborhood where the body was found, and they describe the neighborhood as quite.
Two people 8News spoke with said they heard gunshots Thursday night and that the death was a drug deal gone wrong.
Officers returned to the scene Friday morning to look for any evidence that might have been overlooked at night.
Part of Fenwick Street was blocked off until police cleared the scene.
