Road Closures Announced For Obama's Virginia Visit

HENRICO, VA—President Barack Obama will visit the Richmond area as part of a two-day trip to the battleground Virginia.

Henrico County officials caution drivers to the following road closures in preparation for the president's visit.

Mountain Road between Purcell Road and Woodman Road
Closed from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
 
Old Washington Highway between Mountain Road and Peace Lane
Closed from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Detour signs will be posted to identify alternate routes.

Residents who live within the road closure areas will be allowed access to and from their homes by the Police Officers posted at the road closure points.

Those attending the National Softball Tournament at R. F. & P. Park should use Staples Mill Road to access Mountain Road in order to travel to R. F. & P. Park.

Those attending the Amateur Softball Association Tournament at the Glen Allen Sports Complex should use Brook Road to Mountain Road in order to travel to the sports complex.

To assist with traffic and security, more than 100 Henrico County Police Officers will be on duty, according to officials.

A Traffic & Event Help Telephone Line will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday to provide residents with traffic information associated with the event. The number to call for assistance, if needed, is 804-501-4838.
