MANTEO, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina investigators say an Ohio woman whose body was dumped along the Outer Banks died from strangulation and stab wounds.
Dare County Sheriff Doug Doughtie said Tuesday the autopsy results mean officers nationwide are on the lookout for the woman's on-and-off boyfriend, 27-year-old Nathan Summerfield of Ashland, Ohio. He is wanted on a first-degree murder charge in the death of 33-year-old Lynn Jackenheimer of Ashland.
Jackenheimer disappeared earlier this month during a vacation with her children and Summerfield. Police say he returned the children to Ashland and drove away.
Summerfield's brother has told authorities that Summerfield said he strangled the woman.
Jackenheimer's body was found Saturday in a vacant lot in Frisco, about 20 to 30 miles south of where she'd been vacationing.

Frisco, NC—Officials announced Monday afternoon that the body found in North Carolina on July 14 is that of Lynn Jackenheimer, the Ohio mother missing since July 4th.
Dare County Sheriff Doug Doughtie says the body was discovered by a man doing construction. When he saw something suspicious near some homes, he investigated and found the body.
Police arrived to the scene at about 4:30 PM, but were unable to tell if the body was male or female. They noted that there were no active missing person's reports in the area in which the body was discovered.
The body was found nearly 40 miles from the last known location of 33-year-old Jackenheimer, where she was vacationing with her two children and ex-boyfriend Nathan Summerfield on July 4th.
Summerfield returned to Ashland, Ohio with the children shortly thereafter, however Jackenheimer was not with them. Summerfield vanished after leaving the children with relatives.
Police categorized Summerfield as a person of interest after his family revealed that Summerfield said he's strangled Lynn Jackenheimer.
