FORT LEE, VA—A Fort Lee soldier found dead in his barracks Monday morning has been identified.
Pvt. David E. Vines, 21, of Beaumont, Texas, was found dead just after 8 a.m. Monday, according to Army officials.
The cause of death remains under investigation by Special Agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.
At this time in the investigation, CID agents do no suspect foul play; however, investigators have not ruled it out, as they continue to complete the death investigation.
Vines joined the Army in June 2011 and served as a petroleum supply specialist with the 54th Quartermaster Company, 530th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 49th Quartermaster Group.
