RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A Richmond woman facing trial in her son's starvation death has pleaded guilty to a drug charge.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/NVTxAp) says 27-year-old Ashley C. Williams pleaded guilty Tuesday in Richmond Circuit Court to possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. She retained the right to appeal the plea under the plea agreement.

Sentencing is set for Sept. 13.

Williams is awaiting trial on felony murder and child neglect charges in the death of her son, D'Sean Williams. She was free on bond on those charges when police arrested her on the drug charge last October. Her bond was revoked following her arrest.

Authorities say the 2-year-old boy weighed only 14 pounds when he died in 2009 of starvation and dehydration.
