No Charges In Fatal Prince George Boating Incident

PRINCE GEORGE, VA-No criminal charges will be filed in a July boating accident which killed a 10-year-old boy in Prince George County.

Prince George Commonwealth's Attorney Jay Paul released the results of the investigation into the July 21 incident Thursday morning.

In a statement, Paul said, "Conservation Police Officers were not able to find any facts that would point to this incident being anything other than a tragic accident. Therefore, no criminal charges will be filed in this matter."

Grayson Payne Austin died after the inner tube he and a friend were riding on being towed by a boat on Butterworth Pond struck a tree.

The other child, 9, was seriously injured.
