Richmond, VA--On Monday afternoon, 8News learned that Virginia Commonwealth University has named a new Director of Athletics.
Ed McLaughlin has been chosen to head the Athletics Department after the departure of former director, Norwood Teague, who left for the athletic director position at the University of Minnesota in April.
McLaughlin comes to VCU after serving for over 5 years as athletic director of Niagara University.
More information about the appointment is expected Tuesday, when Virginia Commonwealth University President Michael Rao will officially name the new Director of Athletics at a news conference held at the VCU Sigel Center at 11 AM.
