Henrico, VA—A Henrico County pool house fire was sparked by lighting Monday afternoon, say officials.
Firefighters at Henrico's Station 17 felt the building rock minutes before an emergency call reported that fire had struck a home about a quarter mile away. The call was received at 6:57 PM, and also reported smoke in the area.
Fire crews arrived to the home on River Road just after 7:00 PM, to find a one-story pool house inflamed with heavy fire in the attic. For the next 30 minutes, crews battled the blaze before bringing it under control.
The pool house suffered extensive damage from the fire. No one was in the pool house at the time of the fire, and no one lived in it, so there were no displacements. There were also no firefighter injuries reported.
