VA—In Tuesday evening's Board of
Supervisors meeting, long-time Henrico County Manager Virgil Hazelett announced
his retirement, effective January 2013.
Hazelett began his service to Henrico in 1972, as the county's
first traffic engineer. He later assumed the role of Director of Public Works,
before his 20-year tenure as County
Manager began in 1992.
Hazelett graduated from the West Virginia Institute of
Technology in 1967. He also earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering
from West Virginia
University.
