RICHMOND, VA—A employee was shot and killed outside a Richmond Family Dollar, and police are searching for three suspects.
Police responded to reports of shots fired at the Family Dollar in the 3100 block of Jefferson Davis Highway around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
When police arrived, they found a male victim who had been shot. He was taken to VCU Medical Center where he later died, according to police.
When police arrived at the store, they found the victim in his vehicle. He is described as a white male in his early 50's. His name has not been released.
Three suspects were seen leaving the area on foot after the shooting. They are all described as black males, between 5'10" and 6'. The first suspect was wearing a gray T-shirt and tan trousers. The second suspect was wearing a white T-shirt and dark blue jeans. The third suspect was wearing a black T-shirt and white trousers.
The three suspects fled southbound on Jefferson Davis Highway, police said.
The road was closed for several hours to allow for the investigation.
