Richmond, VA—Franklin
Robertson, triggerman in the fatal shooting death of Hanover teen Jyreffe Clark last December,
was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Wednesday, with all 10 years suspended.
Robertson will be released from a juvenile detention center
Wednesday, after serving seven months inside the facility. He will be placed on
active probation, and must complete 100 hours of community service at either a
local emergency room, or with a non-profit organization which benefits victims
of crime.
Robertson may not have any contact with Clark's
family, and must pay them $9,000 in restitution.
Robertson pleaded guilty in May to involuntary manslaughter in
the accidental shooting death of 17-year-old Jyreffe Clark of Hanover County.
He was originally charged with the teen's murder, but that charge was reduced.
Two other teens were convicted on accessory charges, one of
whom was Michael Thompson, who was 18 at the time of the incident. Thompson and
the other teen (who was unnamed because he was a minor) admitted to helping
clean up the scene and moving Clark's body after he was accidentally shot as
the teens filmed a rap video.
