2 Injured In Richmond House Fire

RICHMOND, VA— Two people sustained minor injures after an early morning house fire in Richmond.

The fire started around 4:15 a.m. Friday at a home located at 1505 North 23rd Street.

Two people escaped the fire, but sustained minor injures.

One person suffered minor smoke inhalation and a second person suffered bumps and bruises, according to fire officials. They were taken to MCU Medical Center.

When crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke was visible from the single-story brick home.

It crews around 30 minutes to contain the fire. Officials said they believe the fire stated on the home's porch.

The house sustained significant damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
